The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Protein Galaxy 2015

Daisuke Kihara

Diasuke KiharaDr. Daisuke Kihara completed his undergraduate degree in Biochemistry at the University of Tokyo and his master's and doctoral degrees in Bioinformatics from Kyoto University, where he studied with Dr. Minoru Kanehisa. His postdoctoral training was in the lab of Dr. Jeffrey Skolnick, where he helped developed algorithms for ab initio protein structure prediction. Dr. Kihara's lab employs computational methods to elucidate relationships between protein and gene sequences, structure, function, interactions, genome, and pathways. These include the development and application of novel computational methods for protein structure prediction, protein-protein interactions, and analyzing functional units in networks.
